Hershey's Kisses Story

I got a email from a very nice man who was extremely concerned about a little mange Boston that had been dumped out on the dirt road upon which he lived. He was very worried about the coyotes getting her since he lives in an area that abounds in Coyotes. He managed to get me a photo of her from behind when she was up on his porch. So I told him I would take her based on the fact that she had mange and was dumped. I had no idea how she really looked. Mr. Stephenson couldn’t catch her and he did not have a fenced area to corner her in. He said she had been sleeping up on his porch at night. So at my suggestion he got a humane dog trap from the humane society in his area. He wired the gate open and put food in it for a few days so she would get comfortable going in and out. Once he knew she was comfortable with eating in the cage, he set it to spring. Mr. Stephenson called me to come and get her. Diane picked her up and fell in love. When you see her, you will too, even though she is in rough shape.

We named her Hershey’s Kisses because once she figured out we wanted to help her she became very very kissy. So that is her nickname Kissy. She has a precious little face and is ok with kids. Kissy likes to sleep with you. She is also a scoocher, where she rolls over on her back and scooches around. She will scooch on the bed and knock the pillows off. This girl has personality and is just a love. She will make someone a precious love.

Update: 12/10/07 Just after 2 months being with ABTR Miss Kissy tested negative on her skin scrape test today. She is scheduled for her spay this week. Her hair is still quite thin, but so much better than it was. Sometimes it takes several months for the hair to really fill in everywhere after the negative skin scrapes.
