Scroll down to see the dogs up for adoption...
Cinco de Mayo: May 5th, 2012

The party is Saturday, May 5th from 12-2pm at Paradise 4 Paws (near DFW airport). Guests are asked to bring a dish to share. We'll also have our usual silent auction running until about 1:30pm.
Guests will need to sign a waiver of liability available at the door, and all dogs need to be up to date on their vaccs (especially bordetella). This event is indoors and we'll have a great doggie play area with a doggie pool! :)

More information:
Annie was with ABTR 5 years ago. Here is the write up from back then, QUOTE: Annie is a very sweet girl that seems to have spent all her life outside as even in 107 degree weather she goes out the doggie door and stays out there just panting away nearly dying from heatstroke after just a little while. I am having to crate her to keep her in the house during the day unless I have her leashed to me.
She does dig out of the yard so we are in the process of concreting along the bottom of the fence to keep her in.
Annie doesn't seem to be interested in chasing the cats or the chickens when she digs out just laying under the van so maybe she lived her life under a car and that is where she feels safe? I dunno.
Her hair is very rough and coarse. She has learned her name. Annie does have a misshapen behind. Her vulva and her anus are very close together and her vulva sticks out backwards rather than down. She does not seem to have any problems peeing or pooping. Annie is quiet and gets on well with other dogs.
She likes to hide under things in the house, but will come out when you call her. For someone who is willing to give her the extra love and attention she needs as well as dig proof their yard, Annie may be a great dog over time. END OF QUOTE
We got a call from the Plano shelter stating they had one of our dogs. The adopter never registered the chip. After considerable slueth work on the shelter's part, we found out that they had given her away a couple of years ago instead of contacting us to take her back. ARRRGGGHHHH!!!!
So we went and got our Annie. She is still a sweet old girl, but I have noticed that she barks a bit and doesn't seem to hear me calling her when her back is to me. So I think she is partially if not all the way deaf.
As far as her behind goes, it needs to be kept clean, so you will be wiping her behind when she potties. She still potties fine although at times it looks like she is straining. Vet says she is ok and not constipated.
Annie doesn't dig any more thank goodness. She is a bit more laid back. She still likes to lay under things though and lays under my desk or squeezes into small spaces. I don't know why she does that.
Annie is a sweet little older girl who needs someone to love her as she is.

More information:
This is a wonderfully sweet boy that the shelter contacted me about because he has a lump on his left rear leg. When I saw the photos from the shetler I couldn't say no to him. Look at those eyes! He knows how to work them too.
We will get him into Dr. Cindy to see what she says about his lump. We will probably have it removed and he will be good to go.
So far with the other dogs he has been great. he is very gentle taking food from my fingers. He is a calm, quiet boy that just wants to be loved. Tony is not the typical gorgeous small short nosed Boston as he has the longer legs and nose of the badly bred babies. But he has that wonderful gentle personality that we all look for in our Bostons. This is one nice fellow and once we get him vetted up, I know that someone is gonna be thrilled to be called this boys family.
5.10.2012 - Tony will get his final heartworm treatment on Monday the 15th and will be fully vetted and ready to adopt. The lump was removed and his leg now looks normal. with the hair growing in.
Over the month that I have had him, I have discovered what a great dog he is. He is not a crazy bouncing all over the place dog, but does have energy to play and run. He calms down quickly and will lay in his dog bed like a good boy. Tony knows how to sit, stay, settle and come. He really wants to please his person. Tony enjoys playing with his doggie buddies. He also loves to go for a ride and likes to chase the outside cats. Tony is a very affectionate, happy, good dog who likes toys and deserves someone to love and spoil him.

Black Tie Boston Available for Adoption Male Weight: 22 lbs Age: 4 years Gainesville Good Markings - Black and White Up to date on Bordatella, Rabies, and 7 in 1 shots. Heartworm/Lyme/Erlichia: POSITVE! has been treated and will be ready for adoption by May 16th Neutered Good with cats? NO CATS! Good with children? Good with kids over 6 Good with other dogs? Good with all dogs met so far Housetrained? Seems to be trained to the doggie door Cratetrained? yes Special needs: none have been determined at this time
|
More information:
This dog was found wandering the streets. He followed the lady home and no one ever claimed him. The lady has some kids so that is how I know he is ok with kids over 6 as that is how old her son was. Poor boy looks like he has had some rough times. He was really thin. His coat was really rough and dull. He has some scars like he had been hit by a car with road burn on his face and body.
I named him Black Tie because of his coloration being so tuxedoish. He is a gentle happy loving boy who wants to please. He LOVES going for rides. I call him Tieboy and Blackie and he answers to both. Tie does hop over the inside baby gates to be with me, but he does not climb or jump my outside 5 foot wire fence. He does not dig either.
Tie doesn't jump the gate to bother my inside cats who have their own room and don't run from him. But he does love to chase the outside cats. He is not mindless about chasing them like some dogs, as he will come back to me when I call him when he is chasing them. I put no cats on him due to that fact.
Tie is a talker and will get excited and talk to you. He is also cuddley and will jump right into your lap when you are at the computer for a little one on one attention. Tie also knows how to sit.
Tie seems to be housebroken to the doggie door to do his business. He gets on with my Boxer Teddy who is a bit overbearing and does take exception to a Boston challenging or biting him. This boy is smart, cause he doesn't challenge or bite at Teddy and if by chance Teddy gets after him, he runs to hide behind my legs so I will fuss at Teddy to get him to leave Tie alone.
Tie is a very affable boy who would make someone a great companion. I love him, but I can't keep him cause I got enough dogs already. so I am hoping to find him a perfect home that will appreciate what a wonderful little gentleman he is.
Black Tie's Adoption fee is $350. |

Captain Bucci Boston Vet hold - taking apps Male Weight: 20 lbs Age: 2-5 years Stray at Commerce Shelter Good Markings - Brindle and White Up to date on Bordatella, Rabies, and 7 in 1 shots. Heartworm/Lyme/Erlichia: not tested Neutered Good with cats? Not Tested Good with children? Not Tested Good with other dogs? Good with all dogs met so far Housetrained? Seems to be trained to the doggie door Cratetrained? yes Special needs: None have been determined at this time.

More information:
One of my rescue friends contacted me about this dog in Commerce. Said he needed a rescue and sent me his pix. He is a beautiful reddish brindle dog. I had room so I said yep we will take him.
Captain Bucci (pronounced BUCKY) is a gorgeous dog with that shiny reddish brindle coat. He is very stocky and you can tell he hasn't missed any meals. I can't believe that no one came looking for him because he is in such good shape and you can tell that he was loved. He is not bad on a leash. He knows how to sit, likes to ride in the car, is good with other dogs and just a general great guy.
Bucci wants to give you lots of love and attention, but he is not obnoxious about it. He sits, he stays, he takes treats gently from your hand, and he plays well with other dogs. IF he can get along with Wildfire pestering him and wanting to play with him all the time, Bucci can get along with just about anyone.
This dog is gonna be one of those, I can't believe that someone wasn't frantic over loosing him and didn't come to claim him at the shelter dogs. He is that nice a dog. This one is a gem and whoever adopts him is gonna be very happy with him.

Hudson Bay Boston Available for Adoption Male Weight: 20 lbs Age: 6 years per shelter and vet Abilene shelter Good Markings Black and white Up to date on Bordatella, Rabies, and 7 in 1 shots. Heartworm/Lyme/Erlichia: Positive and has been treated so should be ready for adoption by May 16th Neutered Good with cats? Not Tested Good with children? Good with ALL kids met so far Good with other dogs? Good with all dogs met so far Housetrained? yes Cratetrained? yes Special needs: Slight Vision Impairment and will need drops every day in his eyes!
|
More information:
Hudson is a clown with tons of personality. He is so happy go lucky and wants to please you so badly but sometimes his exuberance gets in the way! He is a door darter, however, he has learned to sit, even when the door is open, and waits for me to say "ok". That is his release word. He has to do this sitting when he goes out the door and when he comes in and has to wait for my release word to be welcomed outside or inside. He desperately wants to please you and is super easy to train.
Hudson is house trained, crate trained, leash trained, loves to go for car rides, and he is kid tested and mother approved. He hasn't been cat tested, as I don't have cats. I would say that he could go to a family with children that are 4+ years old. Reason being is that he doesn't always see what is in front of him, due to his visual impairment, and so he has a bull in the china closet mentality. He will just burst through without seeing or knowing what he has plowed through so small children might get knocked down. He needs a child that is steady on their feet and can move out of the way.
Hudson is visually impaired and the only time you know it is when he runs into the curb and he is leery of some dark shadowy areas he isn't familiar. Other than that you wouldn't know he doesn't have 100% of his vision. He knows how to sit, loves to be petted and have his ears scratched. He loves to be with his person.
He will whine when he needs to go potty and you better take him out as soon as he starts alerting you or else he will have an accident in the house. He has been to the dog park several times and has really loved it and plays and plays. However, if too many dogs come up to him at once, it does make him uncomfortable and he will growl and back everyone off. I believe this has everything to do with his impaired vision and not always being able to see everything so a lot of dogs at once can be very hard for him to navigate. I just keep my eye on him and help him if he becomes overwhelmed.
His eyes do not produce tears anymore and whoever owned him before never addressed this issue so his eyes have developed scar tissue over them and this has impaired his vision. He will have to have drops put in his eyes twice a day for the rest of his life. He's pretty good about having the drops put in.
Hudson loves stuffed animals, cow hooves, and anything that squeaks. He loves to sleep on the cool tile in my bathroom and has made the bath mat in front of the toilet "his bed". So all of "his toys and chews" end up in front of my toilet. So my toilet is booby trapped. You have to navigate the obstacle course to use the bathroom. He's such a sweet dog and will make a great dog for the right family. If I could have 3 dogs, he would be staying with me!
Pics to come!
Kristi

More information:
Jim sez, QUOTE: This is a very sweet, calm old fellow. Poor thing, he has a multitude of woes to deal with - 3 tumors, a milky eye, no appetite and some kind of urinary tract infection - and that's just from my own observations. Indy is estimated to be about 11 years old and is still intact.
He has a rather long nose and lots of frosting all over his body. The boy behaved very well on the trip up to Addison. He walks pretty well on a leash and tried to pee continually, bless his heart, though only a milky substance dribbled out between small squirts of pee.
This could be why he has no appetite and won't eat. He tried to squat and
defecate, but nothing would come - probably because he hasn't eaten in
awhile, though Elaine reports he drinks water just fine.
This guy loves to have his chin and neck rubbed, along with all the other
standard cuddling techniques. He deserves to live out his days as someone's beloved companion. End of QUOTE
Martha his foster mom's sez, QUOTE: I agree with Jim, this little guy has a UTI - I found some Clavamox in the medicine drawer and have started him on it. I cooked a chicken breast and he has eaten about 1/3 cup of it and has taken in plenty of water. He napped on my lap for a while and follows me from room to room. Paperwork that came with him says he is about 10 years old.
He walks like his rear hips are fused - but it could be he is walking stiff legged from pain from the UTI. He also has a pronounced limp. One of his eye's is totally clouded over. He has been shaking like a leaf off and on and I don't think it is from being cold... could be he has a bit of a fever or he is hurting.. He had a couple of pain meds that came with him and I'll get him to Doc on Monday.
Right now he is hiding under my bed because he didn't appreciate the fact that I insisted he take his morning pills. I've also pushed the issue of eating a couple of times by tucking chicken and beef bits inside his lips. Once it is in his mouth he does swallow it but isn't too happy about the process. We went out twice during the night to make sure he didn't have any accidents and he slept with me on the bed. He took a fairly long walk with us this morning at a very slow pace, circumnavigating the apartment property. Indy has only had one poop (on the bathroom rug) but at least we know that is working. He pee is getting slightly clearer and in higher volume though he is still straining. He doesn't act like he is in a lot of pain.
He has spunk, when he decided the yellow tennis ball was his last night he growled when I tried to take it away to toss it for him. He has also growled at me when I reach under the bed, but didn't follow up with snaps when I pulled him out from under the bed. I like this little guy, once he settles in I expect he'll be feisty. Hopefully his appetite will increase. I'm going to try sweet potato on him tonight.
Good news, the Clavamox is working for Indy. He ate almost a cup of soft food this morning (home cooked stew and diced chicken); first time he's shown any appetite. Since I only had a 3-day supply of the Clavamox we have an 11am appointment at Josey Ranch Animal Hospital. I want them to check him out and perhaps get him some pain medication for his poor stiff little hips. Poor boy walks stiff legged in back and has that bad limp in front. This doesn't stop him from getting around. He showed interest in a bully stick this morning (much to Rocky's indignation). He also came to me and asked to be lifted up into my lap. Indy slept thru the night last night without asking me to let him go out. When he needs to go out he goes to the front door and stares at it.
Went to the vet. The only things we addressed today were his UTI and his ear infection. Doc Cortiaus tried to get a urine sample but wasn't able to insert even the smallest cath. tube so she asked if she could do an x-ray to see if he had stones as she thought there might be a blockage; she did see some blood in his urine. We did that. His weight today was 17 pounds - down from the 20.5 indicated on his Rabies Certificate.
One the way home from the vet we stopped at Canine Commissary and picked up some long chew sticks - Indy had one out of the bag before I could get my seat belt on.

Hi. I'm Orange Tic Tac! Like my name says - I'm sweet, sweet, sweet just like the candy! I had a hard start in life but have now learned that all humans are not mean. I am so happy about that it makes me GRIN!!! Yep - I will give you a BIG smile if you rub my belly for me - oooohhhhh I LOVE that! Now that I have learned that humans are good people I am ready for my forever home. BIG SMILE! (see- told you I like to smile)
I really want to be an only child because I want to give all my love to my humans! But I will share you with a sweet female if you really want me to. Giggles and I are in the picture together playing.
If you have a kind face, sweet and loving nature YOU could be my new family. I will need some positive training to help me perfect my potty training but I want to do it 'cuz I am a grown up doggie now and I really want to live the good life. Do you have a nice lap I could sit in? I like laps!!!
I like to eat too. Sometimes I am a little protective of my food because I was not getting much in my "old" life. But I can learn if you are patient because I am smart as well as sweet! I want to be a good boy and learn all the good doggie things that I never had a chance to learn before. Just thinking that you could be my new forever family makes me smile! Now don't forget my name!!! Orange Tic Tac - sweet, sweet, SWEET! Yep - that's me!
Wanda's note: TicTac came to us with skin issues and very little hair. He has grown quite a bit out, but I do not know if he will ever be fully furred. It may always have thin spots. He is a energetic sweet boy who needs someone to love him.

Not Tested Good with children? Not Tested Good with other dogs? Good with all dogs met so far Housetrained? yes if let out regularly Cratetrained? no, she cries in a crate Special needs: None have been determined at this time
|
More information:
This sweet old girl was given up by her elderly owner after he had to go to the hospital for heart surgery. He was no longer phyically capable of caring for her so he asked me to find someone to care for her.
Pepper was adopted from a DFW Schnauzer group about 8 years ago. They have since closed their doors. We contacted the Schnauzer rescue that is currently in Dallas and never heard back from them. So... Looks like Miss Pepper is gonna be a foster at Boston Rescue.
Pepper is a 14 year old girl with several big lipomas on her sides and chest. At this time they are too big to remove as it would be hard to stretch her skin that much to cover the holes removing them would leave. If they had been taken off when they were smaller, this would never have become an issue.
She has not learned the doggie door, so you do have to let her in and out frequently during the day. Pepper was used to an elderly owner who was home with her all the time. So that is probably the best match for her, someone who is older and at home with her.
When Pepper came to my house she was pretty stiff and didn't move around much. We got her on some arthritis pain meds and she is actually moving around a lot easier and playing with my Boxer. Why she wants to play with him instead of the Bostons is beyond me, but she goes up to him and messes with him and gets after him so... she likes him I guess.
Pepper is an alligator when it comes to treats so you have to drop them to her or give her a long one so she can't reach your fingers. She is not a needy dog, but she does like attention. She gets excited when you come home and dances around now, that she didn't do when I first got her.
I live in the country and like short haired dogs so I have her completely shaved with just the schnauzer eyebrows sticking up. No skirts to catch burrs and me have to brush daily.
Pepper seems to be in good health other than the lipomas, which are just fatty tumors and benign. She is lively for a 14 year old dog and there is no telling how long she will live. So what I am looking for is someone to love her for the remainder of her life who will spoil her and treat her like a Queen. She is a really nice old girl and I like her a lot.
Pepper's Adoption fee is $325. |

More information:
Got an email from Sue stating that this boy was found in the middle of the road. She thought he was totally blind. One eye was shrunken and nasty looking. It has been removed. The other eye is blue and may have some vision loss, but he doesn't bump into walls and seems to get around great.
He does seem to want to chase the cats so NO CATS for this boy. He gets along great with the other dogs both male and female.
Pompeii has a great loving personality so typical of the big boys. I love those big boys as they are usually the best dogs. This boy may be slightly handicapped, but he sure doesn't know it. He thinks he is doing just fine.
Pompeii wasn't in bad shape so I don't know why his owners didn't come looking for him. This is a very gentle sweet boy who just wants to be someone's best friend.

Sally Shih Tzu Vet hold - taking apps
Available For The Senior For Senior Program Female Weight: 6 -8 lbs Age: 10 yeas OS White with Brown spots Up to date on Bordatella, Rabies, and 7 in 1 shots. Heartworm/Lyme/Erlichia: Negative Spayed Good with cats? Not Tested Good with children? Not Tested Good with other dogs? Good with all dogs met so far Housetrained? yes, but not to a doggie door Cratetrained? yes Special needs: None have been determined at this time
|
More information:
Sally was loved at one time by her owners. She is housebroken, good in a crate, loves her little bed and stands up on her hind legs and prays for food. She will do the pray for food in a sitting position as well. She is too cute. She has been well cared for and is is very good shape as a 10 year old dog. Well when she was 10 years old, her owners decided they no longer wanted her. So they told one of their neighbors that if they couldn't find a home for her they were gonna take her to the shelter. NO home was found. The neighbor couldn't stand it and told them she would take her. Unfortunately, her little Yorkie hated Sally, so she asked me if I could find someone to love her. Well, in just the short few days I have had her, I now love her, but I can't keep her. I got enough dogs.
So... Sally needs a home. She is a small dog and loves to be held and loved on. She would make someone a great lap dog. When you take her outside to do her business, she does her business and then comes back to you so you can pick her up and carry her in the house. When you start to bend over she swings her behind your way and does a little jump when she feels your hands on her body to help you pick her up. She don't weigh nothing as she is mostly hair. I think she weighs about 6 lbs.
The lady who gave her to me had tried to brush the matts out of her hair as she hadn't been brushed in a while and had some burrs in her hair. and she did pretty good on the outside part of her hair, but there were knots up next to her skin that we had to cut out when we got her groomed. I too tried to brush out the matts before taking her for grooming as well. She had a little top knot in her hair, but it was long enough it kept falling in her eyes. It was also fine enough that it kept escaping the band holding it up. So living in the country like I do, I had the groomer take that topknot off and clean up her face so that you could see her pretty eyes without all that hair falling in her face. I also had them give her poodle feet cut so that if her feet got wet she didn't have a lot of wet fur on her feet. She still has about an inch worth of hair on her body and a foofy tail, but I had it fixed so when she did her business none would get on her tail. She can now eat without getting hair in her mouth and food on her facial hair as well. Her hair will grow back fairly quickly for an owner that wants to brush her daily. But you gotta remember to have a comb and brush all the way down to the skin so there won't be any matts in that fine hair of hers.
Sally is a quiet little thing, but does bark when something warrante being barked about like someone coming to the door. She will sleep right next to you in bed if you lift her up there. Sally has learned that she can go up the steps to get on my bed like the other dogs.
If you are looking for a little sweetheart of a lap dog that will cuddle with you and make you smile, then Sally is the perfect choice for you.
Sally's Adoption fee is $350. |

More information:
This little girl came from the Garland shelter. She was marked rescue only for being shy. So far I haven't seen shy.
Sparkle has that happy go lucky Boston spirit that makes you smile. She is a gorgeous little girl who is busy and loves to play. She gets along with all the other dogs here. All she wants to do is play. Some of the other dogs get a bit irritated at her because she nips and jumps at them to get them to play. Sparkle acts very puppyish.
I doubt she will be available long because she has good markings, is only 18 lbs and is a young female which are usually snapped up quickly when we post them. Sparkle will add a little sunshine and sparkle to your life. You can't help but smile at her.

Here is what Jim has to say about Mia, QUOTE, This little splash face gal is a delight! Very friendly and loving, and also a real explorer - she covered every inch of Edna's nooks and crannies
during our ride together - and she loved the squeeky toys in the booster
seat.
Fred and Linda had been calling her Mia (Missing In Action?) and she did appear to respond to that name. The paperwork said she was found near a Winn-Dixie, so maybe she knows to head for groceries when she's hungry. Smart cookie.
Evidently she will attack small and fluffy dogs with no provocation, so
she should definitely be an only dog, but she is definitely people-friendly.
Wanda and Doc Cindy should be able to ascertain whether she's out of heat cycle and ready to spay. There is evidently a growth in her mouth, but I saw no outward signs of any distress. Her coat is smooth and relatively shiny, so she was not a vagabond for very long. I would guess young adult, but will as always defer to the experts for that determination. As cute as she is, she should find a loving home soon. END OF QUOTE
Wanda's note: Mia is now fully vetted and spayed. She is ready to go to a new home. She is a sweet dog towards humans, but since she is not fond of little and fluffy, then I would prefer to place her in an only dog home.
She is in good shape and someone must have loved her for her to be heartworm negative coming out of Louisiana. I agree with Jim she wasn't on the lam for too long.
She is a pretty little girl who looks like 2 different dogs from each side of her body. :) She can hear and is busy like a younger dog. She will make someone a great friend who doesn't already have a dog.
Tia Mia's Adoption fee is $350. |

Tucker Boston Available for Adoption Male Weight: 15.5 Age: 1 year Stray Fort Worth Shelter Good Markings -Brindle and White Up to date on Bordatella, Rabies, and 7 in 1 shots. Heartworm/Lyme/Erlichia: Negative Neutered Good with cats? Not Tested Good with children? Not Tested Good with other dogs? Good with all dogs met so far Housetrained? Seems to be trained to the doggie door Cratetrained? yes Special needs: None have been determined at this time

More information:
I got a call from my friend Ginger at the Fort Worth Shelter stating she had a Boston that needed to be pulled because he was coughing and emaciated. I told her I would take him. I was not prepared for the sight of this boy when Jim brought him in. He was nothing but skin poured over bones. It will take many months for him to gain his weight back as he will have to build muscle from the ground up as he had no muscle left. No telling how long he was out without someone caring for him.
Here is what Jim has to say about him, QUOTE: Gang, This fellow is so mellow and sweet - loved on everyone he encountered in the shelter and on the way to the car, and me on the way up to Wanda. He loves to be scratched behind the ears, and will "shovel" your hand
to keep you going if you stop. He will have a lovely brindle coat once he has some decent groceries and supplements in his system. Right now he is very skinny and the coat is rough. He weighed 15.5 lbs and should probably be around 18 - 20.
He is a stray who has some kind of whooping cough type of infection. It's a dry, hacking cough. He has been in some scraps, since there are a few scabs on and around his head, and his ears are kind of jagged from tussling, but no major wounds that I could determine. With some TLC, this guy will be a total love bunny for some lucky person/family. END OF QUOTE
Wanda's notes - Tucker has gotten over the kennel cough he had in the shelter and is no longer coughing or contagious. His appetite has not been much since he has been sick. He will gain weight slowly over time. I am feeding him several small meals during the day.
Tucker has gorgeous eyes with a lot of soul in them as you cn see from his photos. YOu can't see how painfully emaciated he is well in the photos due to his brindle coat breaking up what you are seeing of his ribs and his backbone and hips that stick out about in inch or more from his body.
He knows how to use the doggie door and is very affable and loviing. He would make someone a great pet that doesn't have a lot of other animals. He would do well as an only dog or a dog who has a submissive sibling.
I hope that someone will give this sweet boy a great home. so he will never know life on the streets or be starved ever again.
Tucker's Adoption fee is $325. |

Wildfire Boston Available for Adoption Male Weight: 20 lbs Age: 1 year Stray Collin County Shelter Good markings - Brindle and white Up to date on Bordatella, Rabies, and 7 in 1 shots. Heartworm/Lyme/Erlichia: Negative! Neutered Good with cats? Wants to play with the cats, so can go either way Good with children? Good with ALL kids met so far Good with other dogs? More information:
Got a call from the Sollin County shelter, they picked up a Boston that no one came looking for and would I come pull him. They said I would really like him because he had a great personality and loved to play ball as you can see by the 2 lower pix. He is jumping up to get the ball and standing on his hindlegs hoping I will throw the ball.
This boy is nothing but a big ol puppy who loves to play. He pesters all the other dogs to play with him and is constantly playing tug of war, chewing on his toys and just generally acting like a typical happy go lucky Boston puppy. He is about a year old and has the dudley nose which is the lighter color on the darker colors of his nose. Just different pigmentation.
Wildfire is a gorgeous brindle in his coat. He is in good shape and you can tell someone loved him before he got lost and picked up by Animal control.
Talk about energy, if I could bottle his energy when playing, I would be rich. He is not bouncing off the ceiling, but he is a very high energy guy. for those of you looking for someone to run with when it is not too hot outside, this is your boy.
Anyone who adopts Wildfire will be captivated by that wonderful Boston verve and vigor. This boy has personality and good looks combined. He will wrap you around his little paws.
Wildfire's Adoption fee is $350. |

Here is what Terry has to say about Doodle, QUOTE: Meet Yankee Doodle aks Doodle a 5 year old boy who was owner surrender along with his mate and their three puppies to the Abilene Shelter. One of the other rescues took the puppies and called my friend, Michelle, and told her about the adult Bostons. Michelle called me.
Evidently these dogs lived on Dyess AFB with their owners. It is a law on base that you can't breed dogs. I am assuming that the base forced the owners to get rid to the dogs. We felt that he needed a patriotic name since he was living on an air force base. That is why she was named Yankee Doodle! He is the sweetest dog. He gets along with Jennifer's Bostons. He gets along with our Westie and two Boxers. He is house trained. SHe whines to go out. He is crate trained. He was very good when I bathed him.
He loves to sit in my lap. So far sh is a wonderful boy. He needs to gain a pound or two. He let it be known that he wanted to sleep next to me last night! He is going to make someone a very wonderful pet. END OF QUOTE
Wanda's notes: Doodle is a great dog. You can tell he was part of a family. He wants to please and has that great Boston personality that we all love so much. He does go over an indoor 28 inch doggie gate, but not over the outside 5 foot wire fence. This dog is in good shape and will be ready to go after he completes his heartworm treatment.

Richardson Humane Society has a sweet old senior Boston in their program for awhile. He's a senior, his name is Walton, and here is his pic and bio.
Walton's bio
They'd appreciate finding him a great Boston home. He needs a quiet home as he has limited vision and is intimidated by a lot of commotion and other dogs.
Please take a look at this boy if you are interested in helping a special needs Boston Baby. Thank you.
